MAYPORT, Fla. (December 17, 2020) – Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, Rear Adm. Don Gabrielson, right, is presented the Peruvian Cross Order of Naval Merit by Rear Adm. Jorge Zegarra, Naval Attaché in Washington, Peru Navy, Dec. 17, 2020. The Peruvian Cross Order of Naval Merit is awarded by the Peruvian navy to foreign armed forces personnel for contributing greatly to strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command /FOURTHFLT supports USSOUTHCOM joint and combined military operations by employing maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations in order to maintain access, enhance interoperability, and build enduring partnerships that foster regional security and promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Caribbean, Central and South American regions.
