U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Global Attaché Conference, in Washington, D.C., on July 6, 2017. This year’s theme is “Harvesting Prosperity from Exports for America’s Farmers and Ranchers.” FAS Attachés from around the world reconnect with past colleagues and make new connections with others in the Service. FAS Deputy Administrator and Master of Ceremonies Bobby Richey, kick-off and moderates the event; first introducing FAS Associate Administrator and Chief Operating Officer Bryce Quick for opening remarks. Acting FAS Administrator Holly Higgins introduces Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue for his keynote speech “The Road Ahead,” then Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs (TFAA) Acting Deputy Under Secretary Jason Hafemeister speaks; then Secretary Perdue and he take questions from the FSA Attachés. During a break, Secretary Perdue meets with attendees. Following the break, Under Secretary Hafemeister speaks and presents statistical data relative to trade, then introduces a Q&A session with Global Policy Analysis Division Director Paul Trupo, and Acting Associate Administrator Daniel Whitley.
