ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 23, 2021) – Lt. Jose Monzon, a Navy chaplain assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), leads a Protestant worship service aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) in the Arabian Gulf, Jan. 23. San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and 15th MEU are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points critical to the free flow of global commerce.
