Casey Coulter and son Garrett, landowners in Garfield County near Brusett, MT, with Sue Fitzgerald, Garfield County NRCS district conservationist. The Coulters started with cover crops, but have since transitioned to a livestock-only operation on which soil health is a top priority. All cropped fields have been transitioned to perennial species, stock water capacity and number of pastures increased, bale grazing used, etc. The Coulters participate in both the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) and Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).
