description

Summary

Maj. Steven Rau, research physician assistant, Applied Neuroscience Branch, Human Effectiveness Directorate, chooses a mannequin to be used for impact acceleration tests, Nov. 3, 2015, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The different size manikins replicate the different sizes in humans that could be in an injection seat. With the knowledge gained from the experimental research, the engineers and scientists of the 711th Human Performance Wing expect to further the standards used to determine whether an ejection system is safe for human use and to aid in the development of future ejection systems.
