description

Summary

Brig. Gen. Paul M. Benenati, the commanding general of the 7th Civil Support Command and a native of Mechanicsville, Va., speaks to soldiers from the 406th Human Resources Company, their friends and family members before the soldiers deploy for nine months to Kuwait and Afghanistan Jan. 19 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Two more groups from the unit will also depart to overseas locations over the coming weeks. The unit will perform human resources support, reception, staging and onward movement, and casualty assistance in the U.S. Central Command area of operations. “This is my second deployment with the 7th CSC,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Korte, a squad leader assigned to the 406th HR Company and a native of El Cerrito, Calif. “We are ready. Human resources is a very diverse field, and in casualty assistance, there is no room for failure. We have trained extensively in the last couple of months, and I am confident that we will be very successful downrange. It is an honor to have a chance to work in the Casualty Assistance Center downrange and this unit has done everything possible to prepare us for our mission.”
