82nd Airborne Division Command Sgt. Maj. Arthur Burgoyne
Summary
82nd Airborne Division Command Sgt. Maj. Arthur Burgoyne observed officers assigned to 1st battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division executing physical readiness exercises from the new Army Fitness Combat Test or AFCT at Towel Stadium, Fort Bragg, N.C. on Jul. 30, 2019. The AFCT exercises were incorporated into a physical readiness challenge, which also included a T-11 parachute harness buddy rig with Modular Airborne Weapons Case or MAWC and a rucksack. The challenge was designed to build on the fundamentals of being a paratrooper with a main goal of quickly fighting out of the T-11 parachute harness. The team building challenge also promoted camaraderie and esprit de core among the Red Falcons officer core. The 82nd Airborne Division is America’s Global Response Force and is capable of deploying forces within 18 hours of notification to conduct the full range of military operations anywhere in the world.
