Summary
A bald eagle on a nest at Lake Natoma, April 13, 2018, Sacramento, Calif. Eagles have been making a comeback for the past several decades, since the 1972 banning of agricultural spraying of DDT, a pesticide that made their eggs fragile. A pair of bald eagles have been nesting successfully at this location for at least two years, producing a pair of fledglings each breeding season. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Heide Couch)
