Oahu, Hawaii (Jun. 27, 2005) A Marine assigned to the 3rd Amphibious Assault Battalion based at Camp Pendelton, Calif., mans the turrets of his amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) during training in Oahu, Hawaii, after departing the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). Sailors and Marines assigned to Peleliu are currently conducting amphibious training on the beaches of Pacific Missile Range Facility.
