It is a very powerful instrument, and a dan-gerous one in the hands of an operator unaccustomed to its use. Forceps, like other instruments, should be boiled before use,and the nurse should have ready sterile vaseline, lysol solutioni per cent., always warmed, or other suitable lubricant foranointing them and the hands of the operator.
