A role player acting as a local Afghan talks to Cpl. Lee Carlock and his interpreter during a Tactical Conflict Assessment and Planning Framework exercise, July 15. The three-day course taught these Afghanistan-bound Marines how to communicate with local Afghans facing security issues caused by enemy insurgents. Carlock is a radio operator with the 11th Marine Regiment and Vista, Calif., native.
