A torpedo from the Spanish Cruiser Viscaya, circa 1898;
Summary
A torpedo from the Spanish Cruiser Viscaya, circa 1898; the top portion of a Mark VI sea mine, and the bell from the USS Virginia are some of the larger artifacts scheduled to be carefully packaged and relocated to the Naval History and Heritage Command’s curator branch. The large artifacts are being moved to make way for the eventual de-installation, fabrication and installation of the museum’s upcoming exhibit; which chronicles the US Navy’s involvement during the Vietnam War. The new exhibit is scheduled to open later in 2019. More information about the museum can be found here HRNavalMuseum/ (US Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
