A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft is staged

A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft is staged at Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash., Oct. 2, 2017. Soldiers of the 218th Medical Detachment (Veterinary Services), 56th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 62nd Medical Brigade, JBLM., arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico, October 4. Soldiers of the 218th MD(VS) provide food and water risk assessment for food distribution centers, care for military working dogs, and ensure food safety for service members supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency and civil authorities of Puerto Rico during disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Maria.
