description

Summary

A U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, flies over a U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey at the Dubai World Central in Jebel Ali, Dubai, Nov. 15 in preparation for the 2013 Dubai Airshow Nov. 17-21. The DAS provides an opportunity to highlight Department of Defense aviation technology as well as the men and women who serve. The U.S. participates in the DAS to demonstrate a commitment to regional security, the flexibility of air power, and to strengthen military-to-military relationships with regional partners. The biennial event is one of the largest aviation industry air shows in the world. A small joint force of service members will provide logistics, protection and maintenance support to U.S. aircraft and people deployed to the region. There will be no DOD aerial demonstrations at the event and current operations are not impacted. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Bahja J. Jones)
