A US Air Force MC-130 Combat Talon, of the Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida, being unloaded on the Brazzaville, Congo, flightline next to a Belgium C-130H Combat Talon II. MC-130E/H provide infiltration, exfiltration and resupply of special operations forces and equipment in hostile or denied territory. Aircraft and personnel have deployed to Congo, from both the United States and Belgium, in support of Phoenix Gauntlet. PHOENIX GAUNTLET deployed enabling forces as part of contingency planning to prepare for a possible evacuation of Americans from Zaire, gripped in a civil war
