Hamilton City Hall, 1839-1887 Hamilton, Ontario

This is the 2nd town hall. The first was a combined town hall/police station/jail/fire hall on King William St. that was opened in 1836. They moved to a site on James Street North in 1839. It was a combined Market Hall (also used as a theatre) and town offices. In 1846 when Hamilton was incorporated as a city was the first time it was called City Hall.
