Admiral Sir G. Tryon's ships (the A Squadron) anchoring in Milford Haven on Sunday 11th August 1889.
The Defending Fleet (the A Squadron) at Milford Haven consisted of ironclads not capable of a speed of much more than ten knots-namely, the Hercules, Sir George Tryon's flag-ship, the Invincible, Shannon, Black Prince, Ajax, Neptune, and the Northampton.
