Afghan National Army recruits at the 209th Corps Camp
Summary
Afghan National Army recruits at the 209th Corps Camp Shaheen training facility in northern Afghanistan Oct. 6 prepare to begin their first physical training diagnostic test to determine their physical readiness. The 1,404 recruits who make up “Class 142 M” are enduring day three of an eight-week rigorous basic training program which requires them to complete timed pushups, sit ups and a one-mile run before graduating. Though this is the last 209th Corps graduating class of 2010, scheduled to graduate in early December, it is the first 209th Corps recruit class to be completely led by ANA soldiers in all aspects of the basic recruit training program.
