Some of his most famous works include Les Métamorphoses du Jour, a series of illustrations depicting animals in human clothing and situations, and Un Autre Monde, a series of illustrations depicting a fantastical world inhabited by strange creatures. Grandville's work had a significant impact on the development of graphic novel and comic book art, and he is considered one of the pioneers of the genre. He died at the age of 43 in Vanves, France.
