Airborne Mission Networking Center of Excellence logo

description

Summary

This logo is designed to represent the Airborne Mission Networking Center of Excellence, whose personnel install modernized networking and computing capabilities on Air Force Special Operations Command aircraft to provide greatly enhanced situational awareness and digital communications. That enables the sharing of information between aircraft and ground users over satellite or line-of-sight tactical radios. The CoE orchestrates programs to implement best practices and liaises with the conventional Air Force, United States Special Operations Command and broader community to share lessons learned. The logo identifying the center rests on a blue background representing the skies in which their aircraft and satellites operate. The use of yellow reflects the sun. The binary code above the design represents the transmission of data and spells out “AbMN CoE” when converted. The compass rose between the two lines of binary code is symbolic of the extensive use of mapping and GPS coordinates in their operations. The satellite indicates their use of the medium. The MC-130 and CV-22 display the program’s platform. The dagger is emblematic of AFSOC. The globe indicates their reach. The troops on both sides of the dagger show the ground users of their systems. The AbMN CoE is using the logo on letterhead, coins, business cards, publications and briefings. It will also be used in the future on the organization’s website and other printed products.
