Founded in 1887, the Dearborn Chemical Company was a corporate ancestor of BetzDearborn, Incorporated best known for manufacturing water treatment chemicals for use in boilers, cooling towers, and steam locomotives. The album notably includes several photographs of Young's Million Dollar Pier in Atlantic City, where Dearborn maintained a permanent hospitality suite for railroad executives. The bulk of the album is devoted to photographs of the company's 35th Street laboratory and office facilities in Chicago.
