Gunung Meunasah, Sumatra, Indonesia (Jan. 17, 2005) Alfred Sayah, Master of Provincial Health with the United Nations (UN) World Health Organization (WHO), distributes food to Indonesian children as he conducts a survey about the condition of local inhabitants and relief supplies needed in the village of Gunung Meunasah and surrounding villages on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. A seven-member UN team is surveying villages on the Island of Sumatra to help determine how to better concentrate the relief efforts on what is needed most and where. The UN World Health Organization assessment team is based aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), currently operating in the Indian Ocean off the waters of Indonesia and Thailand in support of Operation Unified Assistance, the humanitarian operation effort in the wake of the Tsunami that struck South East Asia.
