American Kestrel (Palco sparverius)
Summary
The American Kestrel is common in the US mainland and on St John, and can frequently seen hovering over brushy fields as it searches for prey. North America’s smallest falcon, it feeds on insects, small rodents, and on St John, especially, often seeks out the many lizards that occur here.
