The Director of the NationalPark Service has, in fact, proposed a ten-yearbuilding program, but Congress has been soniggardly with appropriations that even theprewar standards cannot be maintained. Until this situation is remedied, touristscannot (in general) expect to find accommo-dations within the national parks comparableto those in the best commercial resort cen-ters.
