An A-10 Thunderbolt II drops a BDU-33, a practice bomb, at the Grayling Air Gunnery Range, Mich., April 11, 2014. The A-10 is flown by the 107th Fighter Squadron, based at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich. The A-10, also known as the Warthog, is primarily used as a close air support platform by the Air Force, but is also used for combat search and rescue, forward air control, joint maritime operations, air interdiction and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
