An AAV-P7/A1 assault amphibious vehicle (AAV) splashes into the water prior to loading onto the USS Dunston Hall during a training exercise at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 20, 2017. The AAV was used during Bold Alligator 17, an annual training exercise which was designed to allow the Navy and Marine Corps team to train with partner nations to refine and strengthen core amphibious competencies critical to maritime power projection.
