An Afghan National Army soldier walks past Lance Cpl. Brandon McFall, an infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, on a security patrol in Garmsir, Oct. 14. McFall, a 22-year-old native of Buda, Texas, and his fellow Marines stood security on the streets while the ANA soldiers protected the Afghan leaders walking through the bazaar. The Marines with 3/1 work closely with their Afghan National Security Force partners to protect the cities within their area of operations. The security patrol provided security for the nearby Regional Security Shura and was coordinated by the leaders of the ANA.
