description

Summary

An artillery piece belonging to Charlie Battery, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, sits in position ready for use during a training rotation at the Fort Polk, La., Joint Readiness Training Center, Sept. 19. Combat training centers create realistic scenarios and provide leaders a comprehensive approach to training in a joint interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational environment. This decisive action training environment generates ready units and agile leaders who are confident in their ability to operate in complex environments. (Sgt. William Gore, 40th PAD)

A very large dataset of various big guns, howitzers, mortars, columbiads, all types of canon-like things - everything besides machine guns and rockets. This collection as well as all massive collections on Picryl.com required two steps: First, we picked a set to train AI vision to recognize cannon artillery, and after that, ran all 25M+ images in our database through our image recognition network. All media in the collection is in the public domain. There is no limitation on the dataset usage - educational, scientific, or commercial.
