Atlantic Ocean (Jul. 19, 2005) An E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the Bear Aces of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Four (VAW-124), prepares to launch from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). The Bear Aces are embarked aboard Theodore Roosevelt as part of Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8). Roosevelt is currently underway for Joint Task Force Exercise (JTFEX) in the Atlantic Ocean. The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
