The workmen,independently of theweaving of the tapes-tries, execute forthemselves all that ap-pertains to the fabrica-tion. They plan thewarp and put it onthe loom, they tracethe outline and transfertheir design, assortingthe coloured woolswhich they will want.The looms, called the high-warp, employedin the manufacture oftapestries and carpetsdiffer very little intheir sizes or details.The most important arethose on which carpetsare manufactured, thedimensions being regu-lated by the size of thecarpet to be manufac-tured, sometimes 30feet long or more.
