Such subjects when healthy and vigorous are more easily castrated in the standing position, be- ing confined in a stanchion and held against the side of the partition by an assistant, or, after catching the animal by the head with a lariat rope, snubbing it to a post, and having the assistant grasp the subject by the tail, holding the hind parts firmly against a fence or partition.
