Summary
Emanuel K. Love, a prominent Baptist cleric, was at this time a minister from Savannah, Ga. Here, he leads the charge against the Home Missionary Society (see also the pamphlets titled Annual address of Rev. E.K. Love, D.D., president, Missionary Baptist Convention of Ga., at Augusta, Ga., Wednesday, June 9th, 1897; and Annual address of Rev. E.K. Love, D.D., president Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia...1898). Love provides treasurers' reports for 29 years of the Missionary Baptist Convention and rejects cooperation with whites in education, etc., unless done on the basis of full equality between the races.
