Sow seed in pots, transplant without disturbing roots. Splendid class of plants with bril- liant colored flowers and dark foli- age, suitable for rockwork, hang- ing baskets, vases, etc. These beautiful varieties of poppies are so well known that it is needless to say anything in their favor. Quite a number of the perennial varieties bloom the first year from seed if sown early. The alpinum sorts are of low growth and con- stant bloomers. Cardinal hybrids embrace several shades of rose, chamois, and brick red. Chinese have double feathery flowers. Danebrog, bright scarlet, with a white spot at the base of each petal. Lsevigatium single, scarlet, black spots and white margin. Me- phisto, scarlet and black spots. Mikado, feathery petals, white fringed with crimson. The nudi- caule are all charming sorts that bloom very early. Oriental, one of the best, dark scarlet with a purple spot at the base of each petal. Pavonium, scarlet, with a black horseshoe-shaped blotch at the base of each petal. Shirley is fine for cutting, having long stems. The new strain we offer produces softer and more pleasing shades than we have offered hitherto. Yellow Rose, carnation-flowered See Special Offers on third page of cover.
