ame structures stuccoed. The com-plete new equipment is that of an all-the-year home for convalescentwomen and children. The enlargement has eclipsed the original cottage, but it cannot dullthe memory of the more modest Orchard, where we learned whatcould be done and how to do it. The Cottages were formally opened onNovember 28th, and the event was marked by a reception, which broughtmany of the attending doctors of the New York Hospital to view theplant. It is gratifying that the Governors have not awaited this, or any specialoccasion, to offer their encouragement and guidance, but have con-stantly shown their warm interest both in the plans and erection of thebuildings and the routine work of the place. The women patients have been very comfortable and contented intheir own cottage, and many have petitioned to have their allotted termextended. The children are sent here for no definite period.
