44PW301-MANASSAS-C is a right leg represented by a partial femur (missing the head and proximal fourth) and a complete tibia, fibula and foot. The femur has a complete amputation cut through the proximal end of the shaft.
Burial C was excavated from a surgeon's pit at Manassas battlefield by the National Park Service and a team from the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural history from October 19th to 21st, 2015. The remains were found alongside two full bodies of adult males and six other amputated limbs.
