AQABA, Jordan (April 25, 2018) Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Jeffrey Boekeloo directs an LAV-25 Light Armored Vehicle, attached to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, as it drives off a landing craft, air cushion, attached to Assault Craft Unit 4, in the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) in support of bilateral exercise Eager Lion, April 25, 2018. Iwo Jima is in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations participating in Eager Lion, a capstone training engagement that provides U.S. forces and the Jordan Armed Forces an opportunity to rehearse operating in a coalition environment and to pursue new ways to collectively address threats to regional security and improve overall maritime security.
