sign of exaggeration any-where. The interiors are carried out in thesame restraint and good taste as the exterior. The work of the Fruit and Flower Mis-sion is that of caring for babies and young-sters under school age while their motherswork, and is entirely a charitable organiza-tion. The children are at the Nurserydaytimes only—there are sleeping rooms fornurses, however. Indoor and outdoor playis amply provided for, and there is a flowergarden which is of great interest to the tots.A kindergarten room and a refectory are in-cluded in the plan. The total cost of the Nursery was $75,000which figures 36c per cubic foot. The ex-terior walls are of concrete faced with brick, and the interior construction is frame. Heat-ing is accomplished by an automatic oilburning hot water system. In addition to its attractiveness, the build-ing is very well planned, the owners statingafter a years occupancy, that they did notknow how it could be improved. 61 62 AflCHlTLCT AND ENGINEER.
