64 ury, in charge of Public Buildings, in which therehas been full and friendly discusion of the wholequestion of Federal employment of private arch-itects and engineers under the jurisdiction of theTreasury Department. Mr. Robert has volunteered the informationthat in the present emergency he intends to rec-ognize the professions to the fullest extent. Hefrankly states that he expects services of the high-est character, and that they shall be renderedmost expeditiously. He further states that he ex-pects to scrutinize the qualifications of architects,and that he is particularly concerned with theirability to render structural, electrical, and mechan-ical engineering service. If it is deemed desirable,he expects to appoint engineers to serve with arch-itects in order that the buildings may be of thehighest type and representative of the best effortsof the designing professions.
