Army Corps and partners receive Coastal America Spirit Award

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is partnering with several agencies to help restore marsh islands in Jamaica Bay as part of a larger environmental restoration initiative for the New York and New Jersey Harbor Estuary. Some benefits of restoring marsh islands, like the restored one pictured, is they help improve water quality and create habitat for wildlife, among other things. (U.S. Army Photo by Vince Elias)
