description

Summary

Army Sgt. Spencer Robinson, a combat medic specialist assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Regiment, U.S. Army Alaska, consults an evaluator while performing a needle decompression on a simulated combat casualty during annual recertification at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Sept. 17, 2019. The medics utilized the Tactical Combat Casualty Care Exportable (TC3X) kit to maintain their skills and proficiency. The TC3X is a state of the art mannequin that mimics various traumatic scenarios, simulates human pulmonary and respiratory functions/distress, and augments realistic training by screaming, breathing, bleeding, moving, physiologically responding to treatments rendered and providing feedback data via recording sensors. Robinson is a native of Orem, Utah. (U.S. Air Force photo by Alejandro Peña)
