ARTA BEACH, Djibouti (Sept. 28, 2015) U.S. Marine Capt. Thomas Vallely balances on a cable obstacle during a desert survival course alongside the French 5th Overseas Combined Arms Regiment (RIAOM). Vallely is the commanding officer of Delta Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Detachment, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
