Arthur Armstrong Denny, ca 1886 (MOHAI 7165)
Summary
Arthur Armstrong Denny was born in Indiana in 1822. In November 1851, at age 29, he and his wife and infant son settled with the other members of the Denny Party at Alki Point. The family moved across the bay to Seattle the following year. Over the years, Arthur Denny took an active role in the city and county he helped found. He was a banker and businessman, and he served as postmaster, county commissioner, and member of the Washington territorial legislature.
This photo shows Arthur A. Denny during the 1880s, when he was in his 60s. He died in 1899 in Seattle.
