Aviation Machinist AIRMAN Apprentice (ADAA) Christopher N. Howell performs maintenance on the squash blade of the rotors on the SH-60B helicopter. ADAA Howell is stationed with the Light Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 42 (HSL-42) Detachment 5 Helicopter Squadron on board the guided missile cruiser USS NORMANDY (CG-60) which is currently operating in the Adriatic Sea. HSL-42 is homebased in Mayport, Florida. ADAA Howell has been with the squadron for 1 1/2 years and is on his first 6 month cruise.(Exact date unknown)
