Summary
In a ceremony held in the Al Faw Palace, Camp Victory, Iraq, on Jan. 14, Maj. Gen. James E. Simmons, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, deputy commanding general for support presented Lt. Col. Paul G. Belobrajdic, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, C3 Air Deputy Director, with the Order of Saint Michael Medallion (bronze). The award history states that Saint Michael is referred to in Biblical writings as an archangel who wages war against evil. He is known as the heavenly prince or champion, charged specifically to guard and defend others. The legendary image of Saint Michael defeating the dragon exemplifies the bravery and gallantry that we associate with the aviation Soldiers.
