Summary
The sun sets behind the Hindu Kush mountains as seen from Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, on Jan 7, 2012. Bagram Air Field is home to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, which provides close air support, combat search rescue, aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and airlift capabilities to U.S. and coalition forces supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. In conjunction with Combined Joint Task Force-1, the 455th AEW is working to secure the future of Afghanistan for the Afghan people. Aircraft include the F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, C-130 Hercules, EC-130 Compass Call, HH-60 Pave Hawk, MC-12W Liberty and Navy EA-6B Prowler.
