Baker Farm Panorama - National Parks Gallery
Summary
The Baker Farm shares the characteristics of neighboring farms with their fertile soil, access to water, woodlands, and access to both the Georgetown and Buckeystown Pikes. Fencing and structures were probably similar to those found on nearby properties.
In 1841, Griffin Taylor purchased a 500-acre property that was originally part of John Marshall's eighteenth-century "Wett Work" patent. Before long, Taylor soon sold a portion of it to Edward and Daniel Baker.
