Summary

BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- An F-16 Fighting Falcon from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, takes off at Balad Air Base on April 21. The F-16 pilots provide close air support to U.S. Army ground units by identifying improvised explosive devices and emplacers in the area and possibly engaging them before they endanger the lives of U.S. and coalition forces.
