Karol Beyer (1818-1877) was a Polish photographer and a pioneer of photography in Poland in the 19th century. He is best known for his portrait, landscape and architectural photography. Beyer's work was highly regarded and he received numerous honours and medals for his contributions to the field. Some of his most notable works include portraits of famous Polish personalities such as the composer Frédéric Chopin and the poet Adam Mickiewicz.
