Border (France), 1795–1805 (CH 18476667-3)
Summary
This piece is probably one band of a border design originally printed in five or six bands, for the width of the wallcovering. Each band consists of four strips of varied patterns: the top strip forms a continuous dentilled "fringe"; the center strip is the widest, containing an acanthus rinceau design. The bottom strip is a combination of what appears to be fleur-de-lis edged in a scalloped line; printed in blues, yellow, ochre, orange, tan, magenta, ecru, white and burnt sienna.
