Boston, its environs and harbour, with the rebels works raised against that town in 1775
Summary
This Revolutionary War era map was based on British intelligence from the observations of Lieutenant Page and the plans of Captain Montressor. It was published in 1778 by the London publisher, William Faden. This, the second issue of the map, extends to the east to encompass Nahant Point, Nantasket Head, Broad Sound, and many islands including the Brewsters and Light House. It also delineates fortifications and troop positions with emphasis on “rebel lines” (American) thrown up in 1775 around Roxbury and Cambridge.
